Description
Willys Club collection automatic wristwatches are manufactured in Switzerland by the famous watch company Ronda. They’re dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Lend-Lease programme. They embody the spirit of the iconic Willys Jeep in every detail. The case, dial and hands capture the characteristic features of the Jeep.
Each watch is equipped with two sets of straps, each bearing the Willys Club logo. The first is made from real leather and the second from canvas webbing – both carefully chosen to match the securing straps used on Willys Jeeps in World War Two. The watch crown’s protection replicates the distinctive side handles of the Jeep.
The watch’s stainless steel back case is inspired by the Jeep’s unusual fuel tank cap, located under the driver’s seat.
The profile of the watch matches the profile of the Willys Jeep frame ‘horn’ section.
Four designs are available – one for each country that had a major involvement in the Lend-Lease programme. The American version honours the country of origin, the Soviet, British and Chinese versions represent the countries that received the greatest levels of support through Lend-Lease. Just 100 of each design have been created. Each has an individual serial number from 001 to 100 displayed on a ‘number plate’ that matches the style of those fitted to Willys Jeeps. It’s attached using the same rivets as Willys number plates.
Each watch is supplied in a military-style wooden crate bearing Willys labelling. These crates are packed in high-quality shipping cartons stamped with the Willys Club logo. The colour of wooden crate reminds of ammunition crate in which Willys MB were supplied through Lend-Lease Act to Great Britan, Soviet Union and China.
Every watch comes with a factory catalogue number and a certificate of origin.
Willys Club collection automatic wristwatches are designed by Willys enthusiasts – for Willys enthusiasts. Every detail perfectly encapsulates the technical aesthetics of the 1940s. It’s a badge of honour for anyone who admires the Willys Jeep and its important place in world history.
